Hyatt Regency Koh Samui Shoots for IG-friendly Success

Hyatt Regency Koh Samui Shoots for IG-friendly Success - TRAVELINDEX - TOP25HOTELS.comKoh Samui, Thailand, October 13, 2021 / TRAVELINDEX /  Replete with design flair and located in one of Koh Samui’s most stunning corners, the new Hyatt Regency Koh Samui is not short on visual allure. Gallery of Eight offers specially curated photo opportunities for social media.

With that in mind, the recently unveiled resort is taking steps to position itself as one of the most Instagram-friendly properties in the Kingdom through its Gallery of Eight, a collection of eight sites dotted around the property specially selected for their photogenic appeal.

Holiday snaps have long been an integral part of the travel experience. But with “pics or it didn’t happen” being the mantra of the Instagram era, gathering visual documentation of leisure time has become a pressing priority for many.

Social media savvy resorts are going the extra mile to deliver specially curated photo opportunities that provide ample fodder for IG feeds.

The designers of the Hyatt Regency Koh Samui knew guests would find it hard to resist the optic cues. Therefore, they baked in the curated collection of snap-friendly spots.

“The Gallery of Eight is a fantastic interactive experience,” said Adrian Pulido, General Manager, Hyatt Regency Koh Samui. “We always had it in our mind that eight photo ops would make a nice rounded number for guests. Not too many to be overwhelming, but enough to make it a substantial feature. But, such was the wealth of visual inspiration, we had a tough job winnowing our choices down!

“Each of the eight photogenic spots dotted around the resort is inspired by Samui’s idyllic lifestyle and the island’s unique landmarks. Guests can now find them, feel them and record their special memories for the future.”

The property fully leverages the beauty of Koh Samui through its coastal location, incorporation of protected native yangna trees that once served as navigational markers for local fishermen and numerous inspired architectural features.

The latter includes a showpiece lobby—the starting point for the Gallery of Eight—where numerous skylights allow for natural illumination by the sun and the moon.

Other likely photo ops include a valley that abounds with colourful tropical flora and the largest pool zone on the island, a collection of four pools, each cascading down from the main pool on the upper deck of the resort.

Additional inclusions in the Gallery of Eight range from SESUN, the resort’s popular Meditteranean-inspired beachfront grill to the resort’s verdant organic garden and the living green courtyard at the heart of its wellness centre.

All eight photo ops are marked on the resort map, which is printed on guests’ keycard holders. A larger scale version of the map, meanwhile, can be found in the lobby.

“We know that people love taking photos for their social media feeds,” added Pulido. “And since there is so much going on here visually, we thought it would be a great idea to give our guests a helping hand by pointing them in the direction of the best locations!”

Catch the Ultimate Break and Discover Bali’s Hottest Surfing Spots

Bali, Indonesia, October 12, 2021 / TRAVELINDEX / You know a surfing spot is hot when eleven-time world championship surfer Kelly Slater makes a trek mid-pandemic in search of the perfect wave. In December 2020 he did just that at Uluwatu on the southwestern tip of Bali’s Bukit Peninsula. The beaches around Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort boast some of the greatest waves in the world and the resort is offering the Ultimate Surf Break Package for surfer’s keen to get back riding Bali’s famous barrels.

The package for two people includes accommodation and breakfast, a private yoga session, a one-hour signature Anantara massage, a three-course dinner and a half day surfing session including transfers and insurance at one of the areas famous beaches. If unsure about which beach to choose, the resort has come up with six of the best:

Impossible Beach
Perched atop the dramatic cliff, Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort’s contemporary luxury reveals sensational ocean views of the world-renowned Impossible Beach right in front of the resort. This beach is one of the most famous surf points in Bali where surfers can descend through the resort’s beach elevator to the beautiful rocky beach. From there, it’s only 300 metres to paddle out from the aptly named beach to the break that is suitable for surfing pro’s all year round.

Padang Padang Beach
If the name Padang Padang Beach doesn’t sound familiar just think of ‘Eat, Pray, Love’, as the beach is based-on Elizabeth Gilbert’s best-selling memoir and is the setting for the 2010 movie of the same name starring Julia Roberts. This beach is a stunning stretch of sand that is only accessible by a staircase through a hollow cave entrance. Padang Padang is a bucket listed notch on the belt for all experienced surfers looking for one of the best lefts in the world.

Bingin Beach
One of the island’s hidden gems for wave riding, Bingin Beach is a paradise for surfers. Swells of up to 2.5 metres break over the submerged reef giving strong left-handers to surfers. While getting to the beach is a difficult walk over rocks, it’s well worth the effort with the stunning beachscape and challenging barrels.

Nusa Dua Beach
Famous for Bali’s big wave surf break, the ocean reef at Nusa Dua stretches around the coastline for over two kilometres. It has the most consistent right-hand reef breaks on the island. Depending on the conditions and tides, the breaks tend to vary but on the right day surfers can enjoy the ultimate surfing experience.

Dreamland and Balangan Beaches
Dreamland and Balangan Beaches are only a kilometre apart and separated by a small headland. Both are a mix of soft white sand and rockpools. For pros, the best time to surf is between May and September when south-westerly winds create swells ranging from 1 metre to over 3 metres, which can roll on for a good 500 metres. Both beaches are also great for beginners and intermediate surfers.

Green Bowl Beach
Green Bowl is one of Bali’s untouched beaches often overlooked in favor of other more famous surfing spots. It’s a steep descent down hundreds of steps attracting surfers who favour uncrowded waves and punchy right-handers. Most surfers recommend early morning sessions as the wind picks up throughout the day.

Azerai Can Tho Lands on Conde Nast Traveler's 2021 Readers Choice Awards - TRAVELINDEXCan Tho, Vietnam, October 6, 2021 / TRAVELINDEX / Azerai Can Tho in the Mekong Delta landed a coveted spot on Condé Nast Traveler’s 2021 Readers’ Choice Awards, becoming one of only six properties in Vietnam to make this year’s popular “best-of” list.

More than 800,000 Condé Nast Traveler readers across the globe submitted tens of thousands of ratings and comments, sharing their travel experiences with the world’s top hotels, resorts, spas, cities and more. The Readers’ Choice Awards are the longest-running and most prestigious recognition of excellence in the travel industry.

“The results of the 2021 Readers’ Choice Awards demonstrate the travel experience our readers longed for most when they couldn’t travel and decided to do first once they could,” the US-based magazine said in announcing the list. “This year’s awards reflect the ways the world of travel has begun to welcome back guests.”

Located on a private islet on the Hau River in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta and accessible only by boat, Azerai Can Tho offers seclusion and privacy on a campus that is lush with greenery and mature banyan trees. Only three hours’ drive from Ho Chi Minh City, the resort is near the city of Can Tho, an area that is home to the world-famous Cai Rang Floating Market, the historic Binh Thuy Ancient House and other attractions.

“This recognition of Azerai Can Tho during the pandemic underscores that guests have found great comfort in our resort’s wide open spaces, fresh islet air, and heightened focus on health and safety,” said Azerai Can Tho’s General Manager Nicolas Pillet.

This is the first time that Azerai Can Tho, which opened in 2018, has been recognized by the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards.

The resort covers an area of more than eight hectares, with 60 rooms and five spacious pool villas that deliver residential-style accommodation offering privacy, comfort and extra-personal service for families and groups traveling together.

Over the past year, Azerai Can Tho also introduced new monthly yoga and Pilates retreats, as the resort continued to embrace its growing reputation as one of southern Vietnam’s most unique wellness and culinary destinations.

Azerai’s brand-new Pilates studio features the latest in allegro reformer equipment in a sleekly designed, well-lit space with vaulted hardwood ceilings. Retreats include a posture analysis, multiple Pilates sessions on reformers, and more. Meanwhile, four- and six-day yoga retreats include dynamic hatha yoga and status asanas sessions, a river cruise, healthy meals, live cooking sessions and more. Guests can spend their free time bicycling around the leafy islet, swimming in the resort’s pool, or playing tennis.

About Azerai
Azerai is a new story and brand of resorts offering guests simple elegance, refined design, and discreet and attentive service in places of unique beauty and cultural interest. The brand was formed by hotelier Adrian Zecha, and the name is derived from Zecha’s initials and the latter part of a Persian word, caravanserai, which references the storied old inns of the Middle East.

Azerai Can Tho is a peaceful retreat set on a lush islet in the Mekong Delta. Azerai Ke Ga Bay marks the brand’s first beach resort. And Azerai La Residence, Hue is a historic city resort overlooking the Perfume River in Vietnam’s former imperial capital.

It is also a responsible company, having donated more than US$10 million to charities in the last three years. This perfectly aligns it with S Hotels & Resorts’ own extensive CSR commitments.

S Hotels & Resorts joins a growing number of cutting-edge companies that now accept cryptocurrencies as a payment option, including Microsoft, Rakuten, AT&T, Twitch and Virgin Galactic.
