The Dome at lebua Welcomes Spring with New Seasonal Menus - TRAVELINDEX

The Dome at lebua Welcomes Spring with New Seasonal Menus - TRAVELINDEXBangkok, Thailand, May 10, 2026 / TRAVELINDEX / High above Bangkok’s rooftops, where the city skyline meets an endless open sky, The Dome at lebua announces the launch of its spring tasting menus across three of its most celebrated restaurants: Mezzaluna by lebua, Chef’s Table by lebua, and Sirocco by lebua. Each kitchen has curated an entirely new dining experience, drawing from the finest ingredients of spring, a celebration of nature’s renewal expressed through world-class culinary artistry.

Spring, with its abundance of tender asparagus, delicate florals, fresh seafood, and the earth’s first green harvest, has long been a muse for great chefs. At The Dome at lebua, this season becomes an occasion to go further, weaving seasonal produce into menus that are at once poetic and precise, elevated and personal.

Throughout the spring season, each restaurant presents a specially curated tasting menu, capturing the craftsmanship and culinary philosophy that define lebua Bangkok’s approach to fine dining.

Mezzaluna by lebua
At Mezzaluna, two-MICHELIN-starred Chef Ryuki Kawasaki presents a deeply personal interpretation of spring, a dialogue between French elegance and Japanese refinement, built upon the season’s most prized ingredients. His new Chef’s Tasting menu is an ode to the ephemeral: the delicate bitterness of spring vegetables, the oceanic sweetness of freshly sourced seafood, and the warmth of ingredients that speak of coastal Japan and the French countryside.

7 Course Tasting Menu THB 8,000++
9 Course Tasting Menu THB 9,600++

Chef’s Table by lebua
Chef’s Table by lebua is one of Bangkok’s most coveted dining addresses, an intimate, immersive experience where every detail is deliberate, and every course tells a story. This spring, Chef Vincent Thierry channels the season’s emotional clarity into a menu of striking contrasts and exquisite harmony: the richness of heritage proteins, the brightness of spring vegetables, and the precision of classic French technique, reimagined.

5 Course Creation Menu THB 6,800++
5 Glasses Wine Pairing THB 5,800++
7 Course Signature Menu THB 9,200++
7 Glasses Wine Pairing THB 8,800++

Sirocco by lebua
Perched on the 64th floor of State Tower, Sirocco is Bangkok’s most iconic open-air restaurant and the world’s most awarded alfresco dining destination. This spring, the kitchen brings the freshness of the season to its signature Mediterranean canvas, with a menu celebrating the sea, the orchard, and the garden, each dish a tribute to the lightness and abundance of spring.

Approach Tours Takes Its All-Inclusive Model to the Water with New Cruise Portfolio

1000 667 wttc2

Approach Tours Takes Its All-Inclusive Model to the Water with New Cruise Portfolio - TRAVELINDEXQuebec, Canada, May 10, 2026 / TRAVELINDEX / Leading senior Canadian travel operator Approach Tours has unveiled its highly anticipated new cruise portfolio, marking the company’s expansion into ocean expedition and river cruising. Its distinctive small-group, radically all-inclusive model has been designed to meet growing demand for more immersive and seamless travel experiences.

The new cruise collection builds on the operator’s award-winning land-based expertise, combining curated cruise itineraries with integrated pre- and post-cruise land experiences. This hybrid structure creates a fully connected journey, blending the depth of land touring with the ease of cruising, while streamlining the entire end-to-end customer journey.

Styled as “cruising reimagined”,  the portfolio has consciously avoided traditional large-ship formats, focusing instead on smaller groups, deeper destination engagement, and complete pricing transparency. All itineraries operate on a charter basis, giving the operator full control over the guest experience.

Approach Tours is launching with three signature cruise itineraries across Amazon & Ecuador, France & The Rhône and Costa Rica & Galápagos Islands. Further global destinations, including multi-river journeys along the Rhine, Main, and Danube, the Scottish Highlands and Antarctica, are set to be introduced in the coming months. The tours will be sold directly to customers, following Approach Tours’ existing direct-to-consumer model.

The ‘Untamed Amazon and Equador’ cruise features a 7-day land tour exploring the natural beauty of Ecuador before spending 7 days cruising the Napo River in the Amazon Jungle. Travellers will spend longer in the Amazon than most products on the market. By choosing the Napo River, a tributary of the Amazon River, travellers will be cruising the most biodiverse region of the Amazon, an area no other tour operator in Canada is offering.

The ‘Savoury France & The Rhône’ cruise features a 7-day sailing of the Rhône focused on its greatest foodie experiences, and a pre and post tour in Lyon and Nice to let travellers continue to explore and really soak in the region. Currently, no cruise operator sailing on the Rhône offers included stays in Lyon and Nice with an itinerary designed to continue the experience from the cruise. By deliberately travelling one way, this cruise ensures that travellers don’t see the same sights on their return journey.

The ‘Costa Rica & Galápagos Islands’ cruise begins with 7 unforgettable days exploring the jungles, mountains, and farms of Costa Rica, before setting sail for 7 days in the Galápagos Islands. No company on the market is offering a package complete with both Costa Rica & the Galápagos Islands in one adventure. These two destinations combined offer a chance to see more animal life over two weeks than nearly any other tour in the world.

The travel industry is a crowded space, but Approach Tours has a clear differentiator: its “radically all-inclusive” approach. Packages include international and domestic flights, transfers, excursions, meals and free-flowing alcoholic beverages, gratuities, port fees, and onboard Wi-Fi, alongside guaranteed land tour extensions.

Experiences are delivered in small groups of approximately 40 travellers, each supported by a dedicated “Group Guru” and local expert team, ensuring a high-touch, personalized experience throughout.

Further enhancing the offering, Approach Tours provides a fully integrated, door-to-door service, including private home-to-airport transfers and flights, creating a seamless journey from start to finish.

Commenting on the launch, Daniel Fequet, Founder of Approach Tours, said:

“For too long, travellers have had to choose between convenience and meaningful experiences. Our new cruise portfolio brings those together – combining small groups, deeper destination access, and a radically all-inclusive model that removes the friction from travel. We’ve also shaped these itineraries based on direct feedback from our customers about where they want to travel next, so we’re excited to now bring these destinations to market.”

Bookings are now open for the Untamed Amazon and Equador, Savoury France & The Rhône, and Costa Rica & Galápagos Islands cruises, which are due to commence in early 2027.

CEO WELCOME MESSAGE
by
Dr Sharzede Datu Haji Salleh Askor
Chief Executive Officer
Sarawak Tourism Board

On behalf of the Sarawak Tourism Board, I am pleased to warmly welcome all chefs, exhibitors, organisers, partners, gastronomy professionals and delegates to Sarawak for the World Asia Tapas Trade Exhibition & Seminar 2026. We are honoured to host this international gastronomy platform, bringing together culinary experts, hospitality professionals and industry stakeholders from across Asia and beyond.

We are especially delighted that the event is being held in Miri, widely recognised as the northern gateway to Sarawak. From here, visitors have access to some of the region’s most remarkable natural and cultural destinations, including Sarawak’s twin UNESCO World Heritage Sites — Gunung Mulu National Park and Niah National Park — which showcase the depth of the region’s heritage.

Organised under the theme “Asia on a Plate,” the event celebrates the diversity of Asian gastronomy by bringing together flavours, ingredients and culinary traditions from across the continent. It highlights how food serves as a cultural bridge, enabling chefs and culinary professionals to exchange ideas, showcase their heritage and connect through the universal language of cuisine. Through its exhibitions, seminars, masterclasses and competitions, the event creates a valuable platform for collaboration and cross-cultural exchange.

Sarawak offers a distinctive setting for this celebration of food. Home to 34 ethnic communities, the state’s culinary identity is shaped by a rich blend of indigenous knowledge, local ingredients and traditions that have evolved across generations.

This continues to define Sarawak’s food culture today, with our capital city, Kuching, recognised as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to preserving culinary traditions while positioning gastronomy as an integral part of our tourism and cultural identity.

As you take part in this event, I encourage you to explore Sarawak beyond the programme — discover our culinary traditions, experience the richness of our cultures, and immerse yourself in the natural heritage that defines this remarkable region.

I wish you a productive and inspiring event, and a memorable stay in Sarawak, the Gateway to Borneo — where gastronomy, culture, biodiversity and heritage come together.

Dream Safari Season Commences at Botswana’s Mashatu

1000 555 wttc2

Dream Safari Season Commences at Botswana’s Mashatu - TOURISMAFRICA.orgMashatu Game Reserve, Botswana, May 7, 2026 / TRAVELINDEX / Botswana is largely known for its famous Okavango Delta. But the Northern Tuli in its far eastern corner AKA the “Land of Giants” offers a completely unique experience that truly has to be experienced … and right now is the perfect time to visit!

In the words of owner, Stephen Lansdown CBE, “You haven’t been to Botswana unless you’ve been to Mashatu”.

From May through to October, Mashatu Game Reserve enters its shoulder and peak season. Tucked into a wedge of pristine wilderness where Botswana‘s borders meet South Africa to the south and Zimbabwe to the east, Mashatu is a place that will truly touch your soul.

At this time of year, the bush vegetation thins, water becomes scarce, and wildlife reveals itself with remarkable ease. Sightings are more apparent and intimate as elephants gather in vast numbers at waterholes, predators move with intent, and the landscape opens up in a way that draws you deeper into it.

Mornings begin crisp, with a cup of coffee in hand (perhaps a ‘bush coffee’ with a warming touch of Amarula) as the first light breaks across the reserve. By afternoon, game drives unfold against golden, dust-soft horizons. And as evening settles, the experience slows—fires are lit, stories shared, and the glow of the boma becomes the centre of it all.

Slow Safaris – Stay Longer, Experience More

Spanning 42,000 hectares (104,000 acres), Mashatu’s varied landscapes—from towering baobabs and expansive riverbeds to rugged sandstone outcrops—offer a distinctly different experience depending on where you stay. This flexibility allows for a seamless, multi-layered safari without the need to move beyond the reserve.

To fully appreciate the scale and diversity of Mashatu, a slower, more considered stay is encouraged – and rewarded.

  • Stay 5 nights and save 10%
  • Stay 7 nights and save 15%

Available across all lodges and exclusive-use safari homes, guests are invited to combine stays within the reserve: Euphorbia Mashatu, Kolokolo Safari Home, Mashatu Lodge, Tuli Safari Lodge Mashatu, Mashatu Tent Camp, Shalimpo Safari Camp.

It is a way of travelling that prioritises depth over distance—where the experience unfolds naturally, and unrushed.

The Matebole Hide: An Unrivalled Perspective

A defining highlight during the shoulder and peak season is the recently enhanced Matebole Hide, now featuring a newly designed entrance.

Set at ground level and overlooking a well-frequented waterhole, the hide offers a rare, eye-level encounter where wildlife comes to you. Elephants pass within metres, birdlife gathers in striking numbers, and the boundary between observer and wild quietly disappears.

Operating exclusively during this time of year, it remains one of Mashatu’s most compelling additional experiences—immersive, unobtrusive, and unforgettable.

Effortless travel Access to the Wild

Despite its remote setting, Mashatu is easily reached.

Guests can fly directly from Lanseria International Airport, Johannesburg to Limpopo Valley Airfield — Mashatu’s private international airport, in approx. 1.5 hours.

Alternatively, a scenic self-drive or road transfer from Johannesburg (approximately six hours) leads to Pont Drift Border, where a crossing over the Limpopo River delivers you straight into the reserve.

Limpopo Valley Air Access (previously Mashatu Connect) utilises Pambele Aviation as its preferred aviation service provider, offering seamless connectivity to and between locations within the Kaelo Destinations collection, as well as across the wider Southern African region. The fleet consists of a portfolio of three aircraft – the King Air 360, the King Air B200 and the Cessna Caravan – owned by Steve and Maggie Lansdown, reflecting a long-term commitment to safety and excellence in private aviation.

Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor is One of World’s 500 Best Hotels

900 720 wttc2

Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor is One of World’s 500 Best Hotels - TOP25HOTELS.comSiem Reap, Cambodia, May 6, 2026 / TRAVELINDEX / Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor has once again been named one of the world’s 500 Best Hotels by the influential U.S.-based travel magazine Travel + Leisure, earning the prestigious recognition for a fifth consecutive year.

The 94-year-old hotel, located near Cambodia’s famed ancient Khmer archeological sites, received the honour in the magazine’s May edition. Travel + Leisure’s annual ‘500 Best Hotels’ is widely regarded as one of the most coveted distinctions in the global hospitality industry.

“Being recognised by Travel + Leisure is a celebration not just of our hotel, but of the enduring spirit of Siem Reap. As custodians of this iconic landmark, we feel a deep responsibility to our community,” said Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor General Manager Joseph Colina.

“Through initiatives like our ‘Grand Path of History’ and our newly launched book, A Tale of Two Hotels, we aim to bridge the gap between our guests and the true soul of Cambodia – ensuring that every visitor leaves with a profound respect for the heritage that makes this city the heart of the Kingdom,” Colina added.

Earlier this year, Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor unveiled the immersive new ‘Grand Path of History’ tour featuring rare photographs, video footage, architectural drawings and other vintage artefacts that highlight a golden age of travel in Southeast Asia. The permanent exhibition is complemented by a new history book, A Tale of Two Hotels – Raffles in Cambodia, which showcases the property alongside Raffles Hotel Le Royal, its sister property in Phnom Penh.

The ‘Grand Path of History’ tour and book both trace the early boom years (1900-1940) of international travel, when passengers boarded steamships bound for the East and the first aircraft took to the skies. It is a story of true pioneers, like the Sarkies brothers in Singapore, whose Raffles brand has epitomised luxury travel for nearly 140 years.

This latest honour from Travel + Leisure follows a series of major global honours. Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor was one of just 15 hotels in Asia – and the only hotel in Cambodia – to be included in Fodor’s ‘100 Most Incredible Hotels in the World’ for 2026. In addition, the hotel was voted among the world’s top 100 properties in Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards last year.

Originally opened in 1932 as a rest stop for archeologists and adventurers exploring the ancient kingdom of Angkor Wat, Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor today remains a timeless landmark. The luxury hotel showcases an authentic expression of 1930s French Art Deco design with refined rooms, suites and villas blending old-world charm with Cambodian influences, and contemporary touches.

The hotel’s exclusive ‘Curated Journeys’ menu, introduced in 2025, offers a range of immersive experiences. These include a ‘Bespoke Temple Dinner’ served by candlelight within the Angkor temple complex; a ‘Lost Civilisations of Angkor by Vespa’ tour; and the ‘Siem Reap Art Tour’, which offers an insider’s perspective on the city’s vibrant creative scene.

Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor’s 119 guest rooms and suites are renowned for their style, comfort and old-world charm. Among the hotel’s most distinguished attributes are its classic metal-and-timber elevator in the lobby and the enduring vintage ambience of The Elephant Bar. The on-site ‘Resort Programme’ further highlights the hotel’s rich heritage.

Nzovu Rundu Luxury Camp in Zambia’s Lower Zambezi National Park

Proudly Zambian owned Shearzone Safaris will be launching their second property in June 2026, namely Nzovu Rundu Luxury Camp in the Lower Zambezi National Park.

This follows on from the success of Mozhi Bush Camp in Zambia’s Kafue National Park.  The new lodge will overlook the tranquil Nkalange Channel on the mighty Zambezi River, where guests can expect exceptional wildlife sightings. The name pays homage to the elephants that roam this area, as well as the striking escarpment that forms the lodge’s dramatic backdrop.  The new camp will feature 10 chalets, including 8 luxury suites and 2 spacious family units. Each unit will boast a private plunge pool, air-conditioning, and outdoor showers, blending comfort with the natural beauty of the landscape.  A diverse selection of activities will be on offer, including game drives, canoeing on the Zambezi and boat cruises. Mount Ceder Under Canvas Hideaways in South Africa’s Cederberg

Mount Ceder recently launched its new stargazing Under Canvas Hideaways, located on a beautiful, family owned and run working olive farm, tucked into the Cederberg Mountains, about 3 hour’s drive from Cape Town. The three new Hideaways, which welcomed their first guests on 1st March 2026, each offer a whopping 70 m2 of understated luxury under canvas complete with beautiful ensuite bathrooms, glass fronts, beautiful decks and a private wood fired hot tub. They have been named after iconic constellations, (Orion, Scorpius and Crux) in celebration of this wilderness area’s very low-light pollution at night, where velvet skies provide the perfect canvas for vivid stars, with the Milky Way blazing its trail in all its glory. A perfect noctourism escape!

Activities on site include a wide range of half or full day self-guided walks and guided hikes, mountain bike trails, Olive Grove Tours and tastings and sundowner walks. There is also Junior Ranger Adventures for youngsters where they can enjoy the great outdoors, learning about San and Khoi rock art, making bows and arrows, go pond fishing and enjoy fun scavenger hunts. The Grootrivier, the perennial river that meanders through the property, is safe for swimming and ideal for canoeing. The birding is also superb, and the region is renowned for its wildflowers in season.

Carmines River Lodge in Zambia’s South Luangwa

Carmines River Lodge will be launching in July 2026 in Zambia’s South Luangwa, comprising three elegant two-bedroom villas, each with private vehicle. The lodge will soft launch in June for the trade and media.  The lodge’s avian name is a celebration of the property’s unique location which is home to the world’s largest Carmine Bee Eater colony, located directly opposite the lodge on the Luangwa Wafwa.

This intimate, luxury, family-owned lodge will boast an enviable island location, between two rivers, on 54 acres of private land. Initially catering for just 12 guests (18 with additional beds) across 3 superbly appointed two-bedroomed villas, each elevated and tucked between ancient 20-foot Ebony trees and strategically spaced to not only minimise footprint and disturbance to wildlife but capitalise on the lodge’s prime location overlooking the Msandile river. The lodge will be less than 10 minutes’ drive, via a neighbouring pontoon, into the South Luangwa National Park and 20 minutes to the Nsefu Game Reserve.

Lone Palm in Zambia’s Livingstone region

Lone Palm is a new family-run 10-bedroom tented lodge launching towards the end of this year by The Ultra Portfolio.  Set on the banks of the Zambezi River, roughly 12km upstream from the world-renowned Victoria Falls, Lone Palm will introduce a fresh, intimate, purpose-driven lodge experience to the Livingstone region when it opens towards the end of 2026.

Guests will be invited to slow down and reconnect through yoga, guided river moments, nature walks and mindful experiences, while knowing that their stay contributes to meaningful conservation and community projects in the surrounding region.

Jaci’s Private Lodge in South Africa’s Madikwe Game Reserve

After the floods last year, Jaci’s Lodges in South Africa’s Madikwe Game Reserve will be relaunching as Jaci’s Private Lodge on 1 July 2026, with 10 newly designed Safari Suites with private decks overlooking the river, tranquil sunken lounges, and calming interiors inspired by the rich colours and textures of Madikwe.

The lodge’s exclusive-use villas, namely Kubu Villa, Nare Villa and Jaci’s Madikwe House, have also been elevated. Each villa offers three to five bedrooms, a private pool, expansive living spaces and a dedicated team complete with a private chef, front-of-house host and ranger.

Lolelunga Private Reserve in Zambia

Owned by Zambia Luxury Lodge Collection – Lolelunga Private Reserve is a private 30,000-hectare wilderness sanctuary in the Kasempa area, approximately 30 kilometres north of Kafue National Park.   The lodge had a soft launch in August 2025, but officially opens to guests on 10th May 2026. It’s a place where conservation, exclusivity and contemporary safari design come together in a deeply compelling way.

Warangi Ridge, Central Serengeti in Tanzania

Warangi Ridge, launched by The Wilderness Collection in September 2025 (so just missed our 2026 launch list) in the central Serengeti, has however unveiled its fully equipped gym in January 2026 —designed to help guests stay active while on safari.  Set just below the main lodge beside the striking rock infinity pool, the gym offers a range of equipment suitable for both general fitness and strength training. Guests enjoy complimentary access and can take in sweeping bush views while they work out, creating a truly unique fitness experience in the wild. For those seeking relaxation and mindfulness, an open-air sala nestled among the acacia trees provides a serene setting for spa treatments, while a dedicated deck offers the perfect space for yoga and meditation. The new spa will be opening later this year, so we thought that would qualify it for this list!

New Beests to join the Bushtops herd in East Africa

This year, Bushtops will be celebrating 20 years of redefining “wild luxury” and is marking the milestone with a transformative enhancement that sets a new standard in guest experience.  They recently announced that for 2026, every suite booked will have its own private 4×4 safari vehicle, guide and spotter at no additional cost.

Couples, families, and small groups can now enjoy the freedom to explore at their own pace—without needing to book or pay extra for an exclusive use vehicle. To meet the growing demand for exclusivity, Bushtops is expanding its fleet and welcoming new professional guides and spotters to its team.  In addition to this, a further three 6×6 “Bushtops Beests” will be joining the “herd” / safari fleet of luxury Game Viewers in June 2026, ready for the peak migration season.  These luxury safari vehicles will be replicas of the original Beest prototype, complete with heated seats, personal drinks fridge-freezers, wireless chargers, fold out sundowners bar and fully functioning kitchens with running water.  Two of the new Beests will be based at Mara Bushtops and the third will join the original Beest in the Serengeti.

Other new safari openings in 2026 include:

  • Laba Ngorongoro Lodge – Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Tanzania (Feb 2026)
  • Sediba Sa Rona – Khwai Concession, Okavango Delta (March 2026)

Inside World National & World Asia Tapas Competition 2026 in Sarawak Borneo - TRAVELINDEXMiri, Sarawak, Borneo, Malaysia, May 5, 2026 / TRAVELINDEX / In June 2026, the world’s culinary map will expand eastward to the island of Borneo, where Sarawak is preparing to host one of the most ambitious gastronomic gatherings Asia has seen.

From June 18 to 21, the coastal city of Miri will become the meeting point for chefs, producers, buyers, innovators, and decision-makers from Malaysia and across continents at the World National & World Asia Tapas Trade Exhibition and Seminar 2026, held in conjunction with the World National and World Asia Tapas Competition and Festival.

This is not simply another food event added to a crowded international calendar.

It is a carefully curated platform that positions gastronomy as both a cultural language and a powerful economic tool, using the universal appeal of tapas to bridge tradition and innovation, craft and commerce, and local identity and global ambition.

The Philosophy of the Small Plate
Tapas, often described as the art of the small plate, has evolved far beyond its origins.

In today’s culinary landscape, it represents adaptability, storytelling, and creativity within constraint, values that resonate strongly in a world increasingly focused on sustainability and conscious consumption.

World National & World Asia Tapas Competition, Exhibition, Festival & Seminar 2026 builds on this philosophy by creating an environment where flavour, technique, and ideas are exchanged alongside contracts, partnerships, and long-term collaborations.

Rather than isolating cuisine from commerce, the event integrates both, recognising that the future of food depends on dialogue between chefs, producers, buyers, and policymakers.

In doing so, it elevates tapas from a format into a framework for innovation.

Why Sarawak, Why Miri
Miri, the host city, is integral to this narrative. Located in northeastern Sarawak, Miri is a city shaped by diversity, history, and geography.

Home to 34 ethnic groups, it is a place where indigenous knowledge, migration, and modern influences have long coexisted, producing a culinary landscape that is both deeply rooted and constantly evolving.

Its position as the gateway to northern Sarawak, coupled with modern infrastructure, international hotel offerings, and proximity to UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Gunung Mulu and Niah National Parks, gives Miri a distinctive advantage as an international event destination.

Hosting the World National & World Asia Tapas Competition, Exhibition, Festival & Seminar 2026 here reinforces the idea that global culinary leadership can emerge from places where culture, biodiversity, and creativity intersect.

Competing for Global Recognition
For chefs, the World National & World Asia Tapas Competition, Exhibition, Festival & Seminar 2026 represents far more than a competitive showcase.

The World National and Asia Tapas Competition will gather culinary professionals from 18 countries and regions, including Malaysia, Maldives, Thailand, China, India, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Middle East, creating a stage where regional identities are expressed through global technique.

The competition is designed to reward originality, technical excellence, and storytelling, with winners earning an all-expenses-paid opportunity to represent their country at the 10th World Tapas Championship in Valladolid, Spain.

There, they will compete for artistic recognition and prize money of up to ten thousand euros, alongside some of the world’s most respected tapas practitioners.

For many participants, Sarawak may mark the turning point where local excellence gains international momentum, transforming careers and opening doors to global collaborations.

A Trade Exhibition with Purpose
Running in parallel with the competitions is the World Asia Tapas Trade Exhibition, a space intentionally designed to foster meaningful commercial exchange.

From June 18 to 21, international producers, suppliers, and service providers will present a wide spectrum of offerings, from artisanal ingredients and beverages to hospitality technologies and sustainability solutions.

What distinguishes this exhibition is not its scale alone, but its audience.

Exhibitors engage directly with chefs, restaurateurs, importers, distributors, hoteliers, tourism authorities, and trade officials, all within an environment curated for dialogue rather than passive display.

Product tastings, demonstrations, and structured business matching sessions ensure that participation translates into tangible outcomes.

For brands seeking entry into Asian markets or deeper engagement within the region, World Asia Tapas 2026 offers both access and relevance.

While the formal agenda provides structure, much of the event’s value lies in the connections formed beyond scheduled sessions. Networking, industry receptions, and informal interactions within competition and exhibition spaces create opportunities for dialogue that often lead to future partnerships.

These moments allow chefs, exhibitors, and stakeholders to exchange ideas in an environment shaped by shared passion and professional purpose, turning introductions into collaborations that continue long after the event concludes.

Knowledge, Sustainability, and Skills Development
The programme reflects a recognition that modern gastronomy extends beyond the plate.

The Industry Experts Seminar on the opening day addresses themes shaping the global food and tourism industries, including sustainability, food certification, leadership, and human capital development.

These sessions bring together industry leaders and practitioners who share insights into balancing profitability with responsibility.

Complementing this is the World Tapas Masterclass Series, where award-winning chefs guide participants through hands-on sessions that combine technique with cultural context.

Topics range from Sarawak-inspired tapas innovations and eco-cooking to Korean palace cuisine reinterpretations, leadership through presentation, and elevating indigenous ingredients such as durian for international appeal.

Together, these elements position World National & World Asia Tapas Competition, Exhibition, Festival & Seminar 2026 as both a showcase and a learning platform, reinforcing its long-term impact on participants.

Asia On a Plate That Connects Professionals and the Public
The Asia on a Plate collaboration between Restaurant Mak of Jinhold Hotel & Serviced Apartment and Asia Chefs is where World Asia Tapas 2026 opens its doors to a wider audience.

Local residents, tourists, and food enthusiasts are invited to explore a curated selection of tapas, wines, spirits, and coffee, turning the event into a celebration of global and regional flavours.

This public-facing component enhances the value proposition for exhibitors and sponsors, offering immediate visibility and real-time feedback from diverse audiences.

It also strengthens Miri’s position as a gastronomy city, reinforcing food as a cultural connector and tourism driver.

A Global Stage with International Reach
The World National & World Asia Tapas Competition, Exhibition, Festival & Seminar 2026 is supported by extensive media coverage spanning online streaming, television, radio, print, and digital platforms.

International and regional journalists will document the competitions, exhibitions, and conversations unfolding in Miri, ensuring that the event’s reach extends far beyond Sarawak.

For competitors, this visibility provides recognition and professional credibility.

For exhibitors and sponsors, it offers brand alignment with an international event narrative that resonates across markets and audiences.

A Culinary Future Taking Shape in Borneo
At its heart, World National & World Asia Tapas Competition, Exhibition, Festival & Seminar 2026 reflects a belief that gastronomy can serve as a catalyst for economic growth, cultural preservation, and international understanding.

By situating this event in Sarawak, the organisers underline the importance of place, heritage, and sustainability in shaping the future of food.

As Asia’s culinary landscape continues to evolve, the World National & World Asia Tapas Competition, Exhibition, Festival & Seminar 2026 stands as a marker of where the industry is heading.

It is a space where chefs act as cultural ambassadors, exhibitors become storytellers, and destinations are defined by connection rather than scale.

For those seeking to compete at the highest level, introduce products to new markets, or participate in a global dialogue about the future of gastronomy, the invitation is clear.

In June 2026, the world will gather in Miri, Sarawak, where the art of the small plate will carry conversations of global significance.

From 18 to 21 June 2026, the World National and World Asia Tapas Competition, Exhibition, Festival & Seminar invites chefs, exhibitors, and industry professionals to Miri, Sarawak, for four days of competition, trade, and culinary exchange.
