Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort, the flagship of Outrigger’s global beachfront portfolio, recently completed the latest phase of its US$80 million transformation with an unveiling of the Coral Reef Penthouse Suite in the all-new Diamond Head Tower.

Emulating a quintessential beach house, the Coral Reef Penthouse Suite is a two-bedroom pied-à-terre within the resort which is rooted in Hawaiian culture and encapsulates the elegance of oceanfront living. Designed with calming coastal hues and premium finishes, the penthouse suite epitomises barefoot luxury through a sleek and functional indoor/outdoor design – providing nearly 4,000 square feet (372 sqm) of living space, inclusive of the largest oceanfront patio in Waikiki.

Accessed via private elevator, the suite sleeps up to eight adults, with three artfully appointed primary bedrooms and three oversized bathrooms, plus a sleeper sofa. The third bedroom and bath is located on the suite’s first floor and is ideal for multi-generational travellers and families seeking additional space.

The light-filled kitchen and living room are chic and comfortable with a full-sized refrigerator to hold beverages and bites alongside a white-washed wooden dining table for memorable meals. The outdoor lanai — patio — is furnished with plush chaise lounges, day beds and dining table – offering impeccable views of Diamond Head and the world-famous Waikiki surf and its surfers.

“The Coral Reef Penthouse name is a tribute to Outrigger’s long-standing commitment to preserving, protecting and planting coral reefs through our global conservation programme – The Outrigger Zone (OZONE); for each direct booking at this premium penthouse, a portion of the proceeds will go toward coral reef conservation,” said Sean Dee, EVP and Chief Commercial Officer.

The privacy and splendour of the Coral Reef Penthouse Suite make the venue ideal for travellers seeking spacious accommodation on the water in Waikiki that’s both set apart from other rooms while still being connected to the resort amenities and offerings. Some of the first to enjoy a preview stay at the penthouse include celebrity chefs such as Marcel Vigneron to professional athletes, like surf star Billy Kemper and Japanese tennis sensation, Kei Nishikori.

“With the transformation of Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort, our intention is to continually elevate and enhance the Waikīkī experience for each guest – whether they hail from Austin or Zurich,” said Markus Krebs, the resort General Manager. “The Coral Reef Penthouse Suite is the crown jewel of this resort and part of the all-new Wellness Wing, which has 23 additional deluxe rooms as well as a fitness centre and Coral Kids Club.”

A stay at the Coral Reef Penthouse Suite includes entry to the resort’s exclusive Voyager 47 Club Lounge; the name honours the navigators who voyaged the unknown oceans via sailing canoe and 47 is a reference to Outrigger Hospitality Group’s founding in 1947 – 75 years ago. Club access offers complimentary breakfast and evening appetisers, alongside chilled craft beers and cocktails, all with special local twists and endless ocean views.

Every guest to the transformed Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort can enjoy a chic poolside experience with complimentary reef-safe sunscreen as well as original artwork from Herb Kāne, Kamea Hadar, Marques Marzan, Ethan Estess and Kari Noe – as well as treasures from Bishop Museum and the new A‘o Cultural Center.

The Ritz-Carlton, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of 30 exceptional hotel brands, today announced the opening of The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne, debuting an oasis of elevated luxury in the heart of the metropolis. Soaring 80 stories above the city, the new hotel brings the brand’s legendary service and contemporary aesthetic to Australia’s arts and epicurean capital.

Set on the western side of Melbourne’s central business district, The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne celebrates the country’s ancient stories and vibrant cultures, filtered through a distinctly Melbourne lens. Designed by Australian architects Cottee Parker, the hotel’s stunning spaces, from the ground floor gallery to the Sky Lobby Reception on Level 80, showcase an acknowledgment of place and indigenous heritage, expressed through the beautifully curated artworks that adorn the arrival lobby walls. The interiors of the hotel, designed by BAR Studio, capture Melbourne’s unique identity with influences from its indigenous story, Victorian-era gold rush, European heritage, and fabled laneway life. Further bringing the destination to life for guests, every evening in the arrival lobby an immersive cultural soundscape maps the city’s story and combines the beat and rhythm of Australia’s past, present, and future.

Check-in at The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne is at the spectacular Sky Lobby Reception on Level 80. The hotel’s 257 guestrooms are understated and elegant, allowing the stunning city views to take centre stage. Rooms and suites feature dark wood and simple natural stone punctuated with decorative hand-made glass panels, custom light fixtures and touches of gold. The Ritz-Carlton Suite, one of the city’s largest, spans the length of the building and boasts a separate living and dining room, walk-through wardrobe, in-room sauna, and private pantry. Guests staying in Club Level suites will enjoy access to a signature Ritz-Carlton Club, a private sanctuary where they can work, rest or play while experiencing the most elevated personalized service and curated culinary journeys throughout the day. Thoughtful touches such as a towel imbued with seasonal native fragrances, presented on arrival, are hallmarks of the Club.

Reflecting the city’s epicurean obsessions, three distinct culinary venues sit at the heart of The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne. The hotel’s signature restaurant Atria is named for the brightest star in the southern constellation, Triangulum Australe. Atria features hyper-seasonal, innovative, inspiring dishes by Executive Chef Michael Greenlaw’s creative and progressive menu concepts, developed in partnership with Culinary Advisor Mark Best. Located on the same level, Cameo is an intimate, sophisticated cocktail bar set high over the city and invites conviviality and a sense of discovery. Steeped in ceremony and imagination, Cameo is a luxurious showcase for exceptional spirits, rare vintages, and the art of mixology. The Ritz-Carlton Lobby Lounge offers the perfect setting for guests to enjoy coffee, casual luncheons, relaxed dinners, and receptions. The Lounge is also home to the hotel’s high tea experience, where a personal menu, customized tea blend, and a high tea stand created especially for the experience, reflect a sense of place, capturing the spirit of Melbourne.

In addition to luxurious treatments featuring products from ESPA, guests may choose from The Ritz-Carlton Spa signature treatments such as The Indulgent Rose, a ritual blending a foot massage, energy balancing warm rose otto oil massage, and a soothing rose quartz Gu Sha facial to create a profound sense of relaxation. A stunning infinity pool provides a serene oasis from which to look out over the city, and a carefully curated fitness centre and peaceful yoga studio complete the wellness experience.

With over 2,500 square metres of exceptional, customizable spaces, The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne is set to become an exciting new event destination, offering personalized, bespoke experiences and state-of-the-art amenities. The Ritz-Carlton Grand Ballroom, with soaring 7 metre-high ceilings and a vast floorplan that can seat up to 550 guests and a stunning floor-to-ceiling feature-window is inspired by the Great Hall of Melbourne’s National Gallery of Victoria.

“I am excited to be opening our doors, welcoming guests and locals alike to experience Melbourne through a new and unique lens,” said Antony Page, General Manager, The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne. “We look forward to creating memories for each and every guest, each and every day, bringing The Ritz-Carlton brand’s special sense of hospitality to this legendary city.”

Tivoli Debuts in the Netherlands with Tivoli Doelen Amsterdam

700 402 wttc2

Tivoli Debuts in the Netherlands with Tivoli Doelen Amsterdam - TRAVELINDEX - TOP25HOTELS.comAmsterdam, Netherlands, March 24, 2023 / TRAVELINDEX / Tivoli Hotels and Resorts has just launched its first property in the Netherlands. The Tivoli Doelen Amsterdam Hotel is a XVI century property in the classicist style overlooking the Amstel Canal and is considered to be the oldest hotel in the Dutch capital. The original home to Rembrandt Van Rijn’s famous painting The Night Watch (which was completed in 1642) it hung on a wall inside one of the bedroom suites until it moved to the city’s famed Rijksmuseum.

Centrally located in Amsterdam’s historic city centre, walking distance from the main touristic attractions, the heritage property has 81 guest rooms including seven suites, most of them overlooking the canal, and a new gastronomic concept in its elegant Omber restaurant and bar, inspired by the art works of Rembrandt, who lived very close to the hotel.

Inspired by the Dutch Golden Age and the unique atmosphere of Amsterdam, Tivoli Doelen’s interiors blend an old-world elegance with contemporary service and special Tivoli touches. The guest rooms and suites offer views over the canals or the city, with the interiors featuring pastel tones with red splashes of colour for a relaxing but vibrant atmosphere, combined with touches of wood. New beds and bed linen provide the best night’s sleep and the marble bathrooms feature special amenities from the French luxury brand Lalique.

For an ultimate Dutch experience, guests can book the 47-square-metre Rembrandt Suite where they can view a perfect replica of The Night Watch, in the room and on the exact wall where the masterpiece originally hung for 70 years. Another interesting room is the Empress Suite that was once the boudoir of Empress Elisabeth of Austria, most well-known as Sisi. With a unique C-shape design to maximise the canals views, the suite has a king-sized bed with Dutch shields on the ceiling, which are a symbol of protection.

On the ground floor and overlooking the canal, Omber restaurant and bar now offers a Mediterranean-Dutch fusion menu. Inspired by the craftsmanship of paint making and the limited colours Rembrandt used, Omber is a signature colour in Rembrandt’s art. Every dish on the menu contains an element inspired by his colour pallet. The menu also takes inspiration from the artist’s favourites dishes such as herring and pickles that have been recreated by the team with the Dutch name of Rembrandt Pauze. The slow cooked Dutch Veal with parsnip, carrots and purslane is one of the dishes paired with Portuguese Cartuxa wine from the Alentejo region, giving a nod to the brand’s Portuguese heritage.

For the Omber Bar, several signature cocktails have been created with Jenever, the typical Dutch gin, which was also Rembrandt’s favourite drink. Most of the cocktails are made with a local Jenever producer, Wynand Fockink, which operates a similar distillery process to that used in the Dutch Golden Age. The star cocktail Night Watch is based on an old recipe found in the hotel archives dating back to the 17th century and is made with old Jenever, coffee liqueur, syrup and cherry bitters. Daily at 4:30pm, Omber Bar celebrates the aperitivo moment offering guests some local sips to savour.

Tivoli Doelen Amsterdam helps guests make the most of its canal side location with a range of personalised tours starting and ending at the hotel dock, exploring the vast IJsselmeer, the city canals or Oudekerk aan de Amstel.

With an immersive “In the Footsteps of Rembrandt” tour, guests can visit his home and studio, the gothic Zuiderkerk, his family church featured in his art, and the artists’ guild of De Waag, one of the oldest buildings in the city, which he also painted. Along the way, the guide will share more details about Rembrandt’s life, as well as his connection with the Doelen property, that commissioned his most famous painting, The Night Watch, in 1642.

The hotel has created a partnership with The Rembrandthuis museum iving hotel guests the possibility of booking a very exclusive experience, a dinner, served by the Tivoli Doelen team, in the actual kitchen of Rembrandt’s house. Guests can also book a painting workshop, inspired by the Dutch grand master, getting to know better the ancient art heritage of Amsterdam.

With a journey that dates back to 1933 in Lisbon, Tivoli arrives in Amsterdam in March 2023, the month of the brand’s 90th anniversary, celebrating its sophisticated hospitality with events and special guest experiences to be revealed throughout the year.

Rates at Tivoli Doelen Amsterdam Hotel start from €200.00 for a Superior room including breakfast for two people.

The all-day restaurant, Duke’s Kitchen, features an open kitchen and a sunny outlook through floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook a fountain. Let us help you take care of the most important people in your life. If you care about nature, head down to the JW Garden, where you can learn about our three signature ingredients: rosella, Thai basil and lemongrass, which can be seen all around our resort.

Discover the rich culture of Khao Lak with a Beachfront Sunday Market – an invigorating and immersive encounter that will stimulate the senses with exotic sights, sounds and smells. For a more soothing activity, our Coconut Workshops will teach you how to make traditional southern Thai coconut oils and soaps by hand, while our spa packages are full of organic scrubs and therapies. Alternatively, simply grab ice-cold coconuts from our Coconut Boat as you relax in the lagoon pool or on the terrace with your loved ones. Finally, Movie Night is Khao Lak’s first open air beachfront cinematic experience – a wonderful way to unwind.

What could be better than learning a new skill on your vacation? Our experts are ready to show you their skills and teach you the tricks you need to be a master crafter. Led by our resident mixologists, our Mixology Master Class will reveal how to blend the perfect cocktail using fresh produce from the JW Garden, while the Culinary Master Classes let you recreate some of the resort’s most amazing dishes, include handmade pasta with Chef Enzo, Indian spices with Chef Mohan or Thai cookery with Chef Sa. For children, family vacations are when many of life’s most magical memories are made. Unleash your children’s creativity with Wall Painting sessions, as they swap paper and pens for a vast canvas, or uncover arts & crafts, aquatic adventures and discovery walks with our daily Kids’ Club Activities. Then, at the end of the day, gather round a fire pit on the beach for Marshmallow Toasting.

If you’re passionate about sustainability, our innovative Art of Trash workshops combine creativity with sustainability as we take debris and driftwood from the shore and turn it into stunning sculptures. From Q2 2023, we’ll also be delighted to invite you to our Shark Nursery, a dedicated marine sanctuary that connects all ages with the Andaman Sea’s threatened bamboo sharks. Join our fully trained team of conservationists and find out how they nurture the sharks, from the incubation of eggs to the time of release.

Find physical fulfilment on your vacation with our active experiences. Join our Muay Thai instructor and learn the art of Thai boxing, a colourful martial art that is steeped in tradition. Alternatively, a Bike Tour can reveal the many wonders of Khao Lak, including local villages, Chong Fah Waterfall, Bang Niang Market and even the chance to present alms to Buddhist monks at the nearby temple. Mindfulness can also be achieved with a Floating Yoga class, as you stretch your body and achieve physical and spiritual equilibrium on our purpose-built floating yoga platforms.
