Aria Resort Sets Standards on Las Vegas Strip with Revamped Ultra-Luxury Skyvillas - TOP25HOTELS.com - TRAVELINDEXLas Vegas, Nevada, United States, January 28, 2022 / TRAVELINDEX / Aria Resort thought of everything, so you can forget it all. The 2,060 square-foot Sky Suites Two Bedroom Penthouse is the ultimate in contemporary sophistication. Luxuries include custom residential decor, unmatched amenities, dramatic views of Las Vegas, our signature one-touch room controls and, of course, exclusivity. Las Vegas may be your destination, but it won’t be until you enter your Penthouse that you’ll realize you’ve arrived.

The seven superlative two-bedroom Skyvillas flaunt a unique palette, personality, and layout. The designers hit a bull’s-eye with a soft contemporary design aesthetic inside that displays a contrasting, brightly-lit Vegas through the floor-to-ceiling windows on the outside. The tasteful, individualistic jewel-toned furnishings give the room a touch of regality. While utterly lavish, the living rooms also create an intimate ambiance with flow-through sofas and furniture. All said and done, the suites and Skyvillas are Aria’s highlight, and luckily for regular Richie Richs, they just got even better.

The Sky Suites are commodious rooms ranging from 1,050 to 2,060 square feet inundated with muted blues and silvers. The suites impress with their mid-century modern styling, seen in one- and two-bedroom accommodations. Sky Suites offer their guests a personal concierge, private pool, private entrance, and some moments of frivolity with game kits such as backgammon, checkers, and chess. While the high rollers can always go to the casino floor for guests who would want to soak up the luxury of the suites they can try live roulette games. Something more adventurous on your mind? The 24-hour concierge team is at your disposal to secure difficult last-minute reservations, tickets, and the like.

Anton Nikodemus, President & COO of Aria, said, “In reimagining Aria’s Skyvillas and Sky Suites, our crown jewels, we took great care to consider what would enhance and differentiate ARIA’s award-winning experience. Inspiring design and breathtaking views are complemented by exceptional, detail-oriented service, creating unparalleled stays for our guests.”

These 2,000- to 7,000-square-foot residences sit at the apex of Aria, offering posh art-deco bathrooms (stocked with the likes of Hermès, Bulgari, or Creed products), blue-chip art, and fully-stocked caparisoned bars, among other fancy aspects. Skyvillas come with their own in-villa kitchens for esteemed guests who are particular about their tastes and don’t find à la carte tempting. Aria puts a celebrity chef in charge of preparing a memorable meal followed by a cigar sommelier, who, if called upon, will bring up a selection of impossible-to-find offerings. Before these high-tech accouterments even begin to work their charm, guests are floored with Rolls-Royce Phantoms and Champagne-baring butlers who whisk them directly up to their accommodations.

Westin Hotels & Resorts, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of 30 extraordinary hotel brands, unveils The Westin London City, the brand’s first hotel in the UK and the 1,000 hotel within the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio in Europe, Middle East, and Africa. As the global hospitality leader in wellness for more than a decade, Westin Hotels & Resorts debuts in the UK at a time when consumers desire to travel is higher than ever and when self-care is now viewed as a ‘necessity’ rather than a choice.

Designed by British architects Dexter Moren Associates, The Westin London City combines meaningful wellness with contemporary fluid and sculptural design. Built on the premise that a connection to nature enhances wellbeing, the design is inspired by the unique location with a modern residential feel. Within the riverfront hotel’s 222 guestrooms, guests will enjoy brand signatures such as the iconic Heavenly® Bed, a spa-like bathroom, and refreshing amenities including White Tea Heavenly® Bath products and Sleep Well Lavender Balm to promote a revitalizing rest.

The hotel experience comes to life through the brand’s six pillars of wellbeing – Sleep Well, Eat Well, Move Well, Feel Well, Work Well, and Play Well – allowing guests to personalize their stay and engage in programming that best meets their needs. The expansive Heavenly Spa by Westin™ has been designed to prioritize guest’s well-being with six treatment rooms and an indoor pool, which was carefully constructed around the archaeological remains of the Huggin Hill Bathhouse below. The state-of-the-art WestinWORKOUT® Fitness Studio offers TRX® exercise equipment, Peloton Bikes, and a bespoke Hypervolt recovery station from Hyperice – a first-ever exclusive hotel offering with Westin, following a successful launch in select U.S. properties last summer.

Riverside dining can be enjoyed at two venues – wine bar Hithe + Seek, overlooking the Thames, and all-day dining destination Mosaic, featuring a sustainably sourced menu of nutritious dishes. Presenting a world of contrasts to city-goers, Hithe + Seek is set at the heart of the hotel overlooking the River Thames, with unparalleled views of Shakespeare’s Globe theatre and Tate Modern art gallery. Plush furnishings and modern finishes create an intimate atmosphere while the eclectic wine list, made up of 80 references, is carefully split into two sections – Hithe which features a selection of familiar favorites and Seek which showcases undiscovered gems hand-picked for diners looking to expand their palate. The small plates menu combines recipes from old and new world wine countries within the wine list. Named after the colorful artwork commissioned for the front of the hotel, Mosaic offers a sustainably sourced menu ideal for those seeking healthier choices including dishes from the Westin Eat Well menu, which provides options that fuel and energize guests without compromising flavor, taste, or satisfaction. Located on the fourth floor, where the north and south sides of the hotel merge, its city-facing location makes it the perfect destination for lunches or after work dinners and drinks.

“The Westin London City seamlessly balances London’s captivating energy with the wellness promise that Westin Hotels & Resorts is known for, providing mindful travelers a new way to experience this iconic destination,” said Jason Nuell, Senior Vice President, Premium Brands, Marriott International. “As the brand’s debut in the UK, we’re excited to continue expanding our portfolio, delivering industry-leading well-being experiences designed to empower a better you.”

Collaborative working areas that spark creativity are at the heart of the hotel with its 1,060 square meters of contemporary meeting and events space. Allowing flexibility in function through simple and intuitive design details, the hotel’s Ballroom is a fluid space that can be easily tailored to host a range of events. Five expansive meeting rooms emulate the linear nature of the north lobby’s design, introducing residential touches and natural textures.

Owned by 4C Hotel Group and managed by leading hospitality management company RBH, the hotel, which also has nine state-of-the-art residences, unites the final piece of the Thames pathway connecting the Embankment to the Tower of London which guests will be encouraged to explore with the hotel’s Rise & Run club, inspired by the brand’s renowned RunWESTIN® program. “By connecting these two sides of London, we have opened a walkway that could help towards a greener city, encouraging locals and visitors alike to walk the beautiful stretch of river,” said Neil Taylor, Chief Operating Officer at 4C Hotel Group. “It has been 80 years in the making in bringing this walkway back for everyday use and we are delighted to see our city united once more.”

Raffles Confirms Acting General Manager in Cambodia

1080 805 wttc2

Raffles Confirms Acting General Manager in Cambodia - TRAVELINDEXPhnom Penh, Cambodia, January 25, 2022 / TRAVELINDEX / Dennis de Groot stands at the helm of the two most storied hotels in the country. Raffles Hotels & Resorts has confirmed the appointment of Mr Dennis de Groot as Acting General Manager of both Raffles Hotel Le Royal in Phnom Penh and its sister hotel Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor in Siem Reap.

With more than 15 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, de Groot previously held hotel management positions in the Maldives, Azerbaijan and South Africa, including nearly three years at a private game lodge.

De Groot was recruited by the Accor Group in 2016 to oversee the rebranding of the Jumeirah Dhevanafushi as it transformed into the Raffles Maldives Meradhoo.

He moved to Cambodia in 2018 as Hotel Manager at Raffles Hotel Le Royal and was originally appointed Acting General Manager in January 2021. Under his tenure, the hotel has undergone a meticulous one-year restoration project when each of the 175 rooms and suites at the historical property received a full refurbishment.

The novation walked a fine line between the need to brighten interiors and integrate a host of mod-cons and the imperative to preserve the heart and soul of the vintage hotel. The hardwood floors have been polished to a squeak, the age-old ceiling fans still whirl, and the old brass rotary telephones continue to ring.

The courtyard remains the centerpiece of the property, its two swimming pools surrounded by tropical gardens of frangipani, and shaded by giant century-old trees.

Similarly, Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor has undergone a restorative transformation in the past two years. This classic resort was originally built in the 1920s as a luxurious resting stop en route to the newly discovered ruins of Angkor Wat.

The new-look properties come at a time when Cambodia is reopening its borders to quarantine-free international arrivals. The country has been widely praised for its handling of the pandemic and its efficient vaccine program.

“Looking ahead, the challenges are clear, not only for Le Royal and Grand Hotel d’Angkor but for the hospitality sector in general,” said de Groot. “However, we have in these ‘Grandes Dames of Southeast Asia’ two much-loved national landmarks where guests expect not just a luxury experience but also a step back into yesteryear.”

About Raffles
Raffles Hotels & Resorts boasts an illustrious history and some of the most prestigious hotel addresses worldwide. In 1887, Raffles Singapore set the standard for luxury hospitality, introducing the world to private butlers, the Singapore Sling and its enduring, legendary service. Today, Raffles continues this tradition in leading cities and lavish resort locales, enchanting travellers with meaningful experiences and service that is both gracious and intuitive. “We are thrilled to make Hilton’s debut in Tulum – one of Mexico’s premier destinations – with this fabulous luxury hotel,” said Danny Hughes, executive vice president and president, Americas, Hilton. “The Caribbean and Latin America has long been a priority market for Hilton with Mexico leading the way – it’s our 5th largest presence globally by number of hotels with Tulum as a central part of our growth strategy.”

“Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya represents so much of what we strive for in our ever-expanding brand portfolio – bold and locally-inspired design, innovative culinary offerings and fulfilling, meaningful experiences for our guests,” said Matt Schuyler, chief brand officer, Hilton. “With a record-setting year of openings ahead for the brand, it’s a pleasure to start 2022 with such an exemplary addition to Conrad’s resort offerings and to Hilton’s luxury category at large.”

Bold Design

In the heart of the world’s most exquisite natural wonders, from jungles and beaches to hidden cenotes and colorful flora and fauna, Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya is designed to give guests a deep connection with Tulum’s distinctive landscape. Upon entering the lobby, guests pass through ornate wooden doors, engraved by local artisans, and are immediately greeted by sweeping ocean views and an immersive art installation, a nod to ancient Mayan architecture and Tulum’s surroundings.

The nature-inspired theme continues throughout the hotel’s thoughtfully designed guest rooms, incorporating organic elements such as stone, wood and metal. Boasting floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic ocean views, guest rooms are designed with calming tones and elegant furnishings, each with their own private balcony and relaxation tub or plunge pools on the ground floor rooms. Guests seeking additional space can enjoy a suite complete with a spacious living room and adjacent dining area for up to eight people, as well as a spa-inspired master bathroom complete with a soaking tub and rainfall shower.

Exquisite Dining

A destination unto itself, Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya’s diverse dining options include five restaurants as well as six bars and lounges featuring globally inspired cuisine, casual poolside fare and world-class catering for meetings and events. Venues include energizing bar experiences serving up generous wine lists, regional spirits and refreshing tropical cocktails, and elevated dining experiences offering flavors of the world with innovative and local twists. A sample of the dining offerings at the hotel includes:

– Autor: The resort’s most sophisticated dining experience is an ode to its chef or ‘author’ where guests experience a personalized culinary journey curated by Chef Jersaí Miranda.
– Maratea: Features distinct cuisine inspired by the Mediterranean Basin from southern Spain to North Africa, Greece and Turkey.
– Ukai: A sushi bar dedicated to the traditional Japanese fishing method, brought to life as a contemporary sushi counter committed to sustainable fishing.
– Kengai: A Teppanyaki restaurant that merges classic Japanese and Southeast Asian techniques with local ingredients and styles, whose name is inspired by the Jacaranda tree, brought to Mexico by Japanese immigrants in the 20th century.
– Chaak Bar: Named after the Mayan rain god and inspired by the cenotes where the Mayans would connect with him, Chaak Bar offers guests a place to seek shelter and recharge.
– Cafetal: This upscale café and market are inspired by the traditional Tianguis, an economic and social gathering center in Mexican culture serving locally sourced coffee, snacks and all-day essentials.

Transformative Experiences

Allowing travelers to discover new facets of well-being and self-fulfillment, the guest experience at Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya is characterized by a deep connection with the natural environment and to honor Tulum’s cultural traditions. Whether floating, snorkeling or kayaking in the crystal-clear bay waters or lounging in an oceanfront cabana by one of the five pools, guests can fully immerse themselves in this mystical paradise.

Nestled within lush mangroves, Conrad Spa Tulum is a destination purposefully designed as a wellness refuge. Guests enjoy a wide range of services inspired by the legends of the Mayan gods and traditional Mexican herbalism in individual treatment rooms or “casitas.” Spa offerings include an extensive menu of body rituals, a sensory Water Ritual including an outdoor pool and thermal facilities and the Mayan Manteada, an ancient massage technique in which shawls are tied around the waist to relax and realign the body. For guests looking for an enlightened sense of well-being and tranquility, the property has an in-house Shaman to perform ancient rituals like the purifying gratitude and sacred cenote ceremonies.

Sustainable Beauty + Wildlife

The resort is dedicated to safeguarding Tulum’s landscape and its resources. From an environmental education curriculum to multiple rescue and relocation programs for its mangroves, wildlife, and coastal forest, conservation is ingrained in the DNA of Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya. The hotel emphasizes meticulous preservation and sustainability through its sea turtle protection program as well as an innovative waste management system and water quality monitoring projects. The sea turtle protection program reduces the impact of the hotel’s activities during the turtles’ nesting season and guarantees the conservation of the protected species.

Inspired Gatherings

Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya offers the destination’s first and largest separate event center featuring 55,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. The convention center’s modern yet elegant décor features large windows giving way to breathtaking views. The 9,000 square foot outdoor terrace is perfect for al fresco dining, and additional event spaces include a Main Ballroom, Junior Ballroom and three meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 2,500 people.

Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya is the latest addition to Hilton’s portfolio of iconic luxury hotels in premier global destinations. This year, Conrad Hotels & Resorts will significantly expand its footprint in key urban and resort destinations including Los Angeles, Nashville, Sardinia and Rabat, Morocco.
