Marriott International, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAR) announced plans to expand its portfolio in Turkey with the expected opening of 10 properties by the end of 2022. With the anticipated openings, the company’s portfolio in Turkey is expected to encompass 43 properties with over 7,000 rooms across eight markets by the end of 2022. Reinforcing its long-term focus on the market, the company also announced two recent deal signings under the Four Points by Sheraton brand.

Strong Continued Growth for Select Accommodations Across the Country
Marriott International continues to see growth in its select portfolio across brands such as Four Points by Sheraton and Residence Inn by Marriott. Four Points by Sheraton builds upon its momentum in the Turkish market with the Four Points by Sheraton Istanbul Kagithane expected to open this year and the Four Points by Sheraton Elazig projected to open in 2022.

To meet the demand for longer-stay accommodations in the country, the company is expected to debut its extended stay brand, Residence Inn by Marriott, with the anticipated opening of Residence Inn by Marriott Istanbul Atasehir later this year. The brand is ideal for guests seeking the comforts of home with modern, flexible suites with full kitchens and separate living and sleeping areas, providing the perfect solution for travelers mixing business and leisure travel.

Owner Desire for Marriott’s Premium Brands
The company’s renowned premium brands also remain a strong driver of growth in the Turkish market. Growing Demand Branded Residences

There is also increased interest in the adaptive re-use space where developers are looking to convert existing buildings into hotel accommodations. In the past three years, the company has signed four adaptive re-use conversions in Turkey including JW Marriott Istanbul Bosphorus and The Burdock, Autograph Collection.

W Hotels Worldwide today announced Elsa y Elmar as the latest artist to create exclusive music for W Records, the iconic hotel brand’s private record label. Today marks the release of Elsa y Elmar’s cover of the hit song “Adiós Amor,” made popular by award-winning Mexican singer, Christian Nodal. The Colombian-born artist joins fellow W Records alums Japanese Breakfast, Amber Mark, Roosevelt and Perfume Genius as the first Latinx artist on the imprint.

The first of the two singles, “Adiós Amor,” drops today both digitally and via limited edition runs of vinyl, and was recorded in a W Sound Suite, the brand’s signature, on-site recording studio, at W Hollywood. W guests and fans can see Elsa y Elmar perform an intimate set at W Mexico City on August 24, 2021 as she showcases listener favorites, her soft and gentle spin on “Adiós Amor,” as well as a new, original W Records track that will be released at midnight.

“Recording in the W Sound Suite at W Hollywood was such a fun experience,” said Elsa y Elmar. “The setting was perfect, the vibe was right, and all my needs were taken care of while I did what I love doing the most: making music. Elsa y Elmar is a recognized bilingual singer-songwriter from Colombia who currently resides in Mexico City. She was discovered by W Records in February 2020 and, within days, had Elsa record her two tracks for the record prior to signing with Sony Music Mexico last year. The Bensley Outsider Gallery will feature a collection of original works of art by internationally renowned architect and designer, Bill Bensley, which can be viewed and purchased by in-house guests and outside visitors alike.

Located at the Sky Level of the resort, the Bensley Outsider Gallery is a naturally-lit pavilion in a cobblestone courtyard. It will house 50 colourful and bold artworks, including prints and paintings. Visitors can also hear the story behind each artwork through a unique interactive storytelling approach that uses QR codes and YouTube videos.

Upon opening, the Bensley Outsider Gallery at InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort will become Vietnam’s first and only Bill Bensley gallery.

Bill Bensley is a highly-acclaimed architect, interior designer and landscape architect who has created some of Asia’s most iconic hotels and resorts. He took up painting just three years ago and the gallery’s name, “Outsider”, reflects his feeling that he is not a classically trained artist – he considers himself an outsider in the art world.

While he feels like an outsider however, Bill Bensley is certainly a talented artist. His Fauvist style of painting bursts with bright and beautiful colours, delightful forms and a touch of humour. He also strives to incorporate his trademark gift of storytelling into each piece.

Visitors will be able to purchase the featured artworks, with prices starting from USD 250. Passionate about wildlife protection, Bill will donate proceeds from his art sales to wildlife charities, including those dedicated to combating poaching in Southeast Asia.

The Bensley Outsider Gallery will be officially unveiled upon the reopening of InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, when conditions allow. It will be open from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Wednesdays through Sundays, and no appointment is necessary.

InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort is located on the spectacular natural preserve of the Son Tra Peninsula, north of Danang City, Vietnam. Designed by Bill Bensley, it is considered one of Asia’s most prestigious beach resorts.

The new content series includes four videos led by TED’s Director of Speaker Coaching, Briar Goldberg, a strategic communications expert who helps TED speakers prepare for their talks and has coached CEOs and Grammy and Nobel Prize winners. Wow the Crowd with Exclusive Interactive Session

In addition to the four videos, several lucky Marriott Bonvoy members will have the opportunity to receive live virtual guidance from Briar, thanks to Marriott Bonvoy Moments, the recently re-launched platform that offers members the chance to use their points to bid for VIP access to a wide variety of world-class experiences. The 15 members who bid the highest number of points on the ‘TED Virtual Training: The Art of Public Speaking’ event will receive direct coaching on the art of communication as business travel begins to return and the hybrid work landscape becomes the new norm. Following many months of isolation, Goldberg will teach public speaking through engaging exercises that help members identify their audience, keep them engaged and inspired, and convey their message confidently. Drawing on the same rigorous regimen that has prepared speakers for the TED main stage, and inspired by the TED Talk, this 90-minute interactive session – with bidding starting at 15,000 points – will take place via TED’s Zoom platform, offering attendees the chance to put their virtual presentation skills to the test right away. Designing to Spark Inspiration

According to a survey from Enterprise Technology Research, the number of employees globally who will be permanently remote is set to double in 2021 to 34.4%. Led by interior design expert Brigette Romanek, a new custom content video – launching in October and available on MarriottHotels.com and TED.com – will feature tips on how to transform one’s personal space into a creative hub, highlighting practices used by Marriott Hotels’ design team in Marriott Hotels around the world to spark inspiration and stimulate new ideas.
