TIA Wellness Resort Gets a Refresh with New Wellness Treatments

TIA Wellness Resort Gets a Refresh with New Wellness Treatments - TRAVELNEWSHUB.comAn oceanfront resort that has helped shape the wellness industry in Vietnam continues to reinvent itself to meet the diverse needs of its guests through new treatments and improving the spaces in which those therapies are offered. This month TIA Wellness Resort launches four new treatments including a new master therapy, a retreat-exclusive treatment, and gives its 22 treatment rooms a facelift.

“Our experience, and guest health assessments, revealed a heightened need for tension relief in areas commonly affected by daily life, especially due to the digitalization and prolonged screen time many of us experience,” explained Ramon Imper, general manager of the resort.

Guests taking part in one of the customized retreat programs at the property can now experience cupping, an ancient healing technique that originated in China and is a mainstay of traditional Vietnamese medicine. TIA Wellness Resort’s cupping therapy was developed by Dr. Phan Minh Duc, head of the Rehabilitation Center in Quang Nam province, where the resort is located, in collaboration with the property’s wellness training manager.

The 60-minute ‘Vietnamese Cupping Therapy’ involves a gentle tissue warm-up followed by the application of suction cups at acupuncture points. The traditional therapy has a host of benefits ranging from draining excess fluids and toxins to increasing blood flow to the skin and muscles. It also stimulates the peripheral nervous system and strengthens the immune system.

The two 30-minute treatments that specifically cater to daily computer users include a ‘Back & Shoulder Tension Release,’ to provide lasting relief and relaxation to an area where many people hold stress; and the ‘Holistic Head & Neck Harmony,’ a meridian-point therapy focusing on the head and neck to reset and balance mental well-being and overall health. The treatment also helps with neck mobility, while offering deep relaxation.

“We also recognized a growing need to focus on leg care,” added Ramon. “Traditionally, legs receive less attention and limited treatment time in most massages. To address this, we created the new leg recovery treatment, which is dedicated solely to the legs.”

The 50-minute ‘Deep Tissue Leg Recovery,’ alleviates tension and fatigue in the legs through a combination of deep tissue techniques and gentle stretches. In contrast to desk-bound workers this is a good fit for those who are on their feet all day, recovering from intense physical activity, or have just taken a long flight. The revitalizing treatment promotes blood circulation and muscle recovery.

In recent months the wellness team have also added new facials in collaboration with Comfort Zone, a science-based, regenerative and sustainable skincare brand founded in Italy. Four different facials on the menu tap the botanical powers of the nourishing skincare brand with options including: Recover Touch, Active Pureness, Hydra Glow, and Remedy Soothing. All are 50-minutes.

The new offerings complement the existing line up of 29 treatments available to wellness-inclusive guests. Guests who book a retreat also have access to an additional seven therapies including sound healing, master reiki, and the new Vietnamese cupping treatment.

With the addition of the treatments comes a renewed focus on the treatment room design. Elements have been added to the existing 22 rooms to create a more peaceful ambiance in line with the original design philosophy.

The resort’s overall design draws inspiration from the Forbidden City, a walled city inside an age-old Citadel in the nearby former capital of Hue. The greater emphasis now placed on arches within the treatment rooms mimics the arches present in the UNESCO-protected structures throughout the historic site.

Ambassador Cruise Unveils Luxurious Cruise of Halong Bay and Lan Ha Bay

900 599 wttc2

Ambassador Cruise Unveils Luxurious Cruise of Halong Bay and Lan Ha Bay - TRAVELNEWSHUB.comLeading boutique cruise operator Ambassador Cruise has launched a “One Adventure – Two Wonders” experience that plies the limestone karst-studded waters of Vietnam’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed bays Halong and Lan Ha.

The three-day, two-night cruise “combines the best of both worlds; two awe-inspiring seascapes, in the northern reaches of the Gulf of Tonkin, each alluring and remarkable in their own way,” said Nguyen Cao Son, founder of Asia Premier Cruises Corporation, which owns Ambassador Cruise.

On the first day of the cruise, passengers board Ambassador Cruise 1, the largest and most luxurious vessel in Halong Bay, featuring 46 cabins with a private balcony or terrace, twin 360-degree sundecks, a restaurant, plush piano lounge, bars, an open-air Jacuzzi pool, and a spa. Highlights of the itinerary’s first day include a buffet lunch with views of Halong Bay’s limestone islets, experiencing Luon Cave’s compelling lake on a bamboo boat or kayak, and the chef’s special dinner at the vessel’s restaurant. Passengers also visit Titov Island, famous for its crescent moon-shaped beach and, at the island’s peak, 360-degree views of Halong Bay.

The following day, guests explore Sung Sot Cave, Halong Bay’s largest and most impressive cave with incredible stalactites before disembarking at Halong International Cruise Port to visit iconic landmark Quang Ninh Museum and other historical sites such as Dong Pagoda. Showcasing archaeological artifacts from prehistoric times to the modern era, the museum is also home to Vietnam’s biggest whale skeleton.

Passengers then set sail on the relatively uncharted waters of Lan Ha Bay that afternoon and evening aboard Ambassador Signature Cruise before returning to Halong International cruise Port by speedboat on the third day.

Unprecedented for Lan Ha Bay, Ambassador Signature Cruise offers 39 cabins with a private balcony or terrace, a spacious sundeck, restaurant, piano lounge, bars, spa, and a water slide that takes guests to the bay’s emerald sea. A delectable lunch and premium Michelin-standard dinner menu are served at the vessel’s restaurant. Another highlight of the second day of the itinerary is a visit to Viet Hai, a traditional floating fishing village, which showcases the daily lives of locals.

Day three of the cruise includes a visit to and a tour through Light and Dark Cave by bamboo boat or kayak. The cave features impressive stalactites and leads to a peaceful lake surrounded by towering limestone cliffs.

Guests have the option of starting the second and third days of the cruise with a tai chi session on the sundeck before a light breakfast is served in the piano bar and a full breakfast at the restaurant. Happy Hour drinks and canapes, live music, spa treatments, and squid fishing are also on offer during the cruise.

“Why make the difficult choice of choosing between cruising Halong Bay and Lan Ha Bay when you can experience both?” said Cao Son. “We have a lot of people ask which bay is better to cruise when they reach out to book with us and so our answer is now: ‘One Adventure – Two Wonders’.”

Although it retains all the majesty of its superstar neighbor Halong Bay, Lan Ha Bay sees a fraction of the traffic. The two seascapes are virtually interchangeable, but the lack of tourist boats gives Lan Ha Bay a more isolated appeal.

Since launching its first vessel in 2021, Ambassador Cruise has made a name for itself as the leading luxury cruise operator on Halong Bay. It now operates three vessels; Ambassador I, Ambassador II and Ambassador Signature. Guests choose from a variety of journeys including overnight cruises, day cruises, and dinner cruises.

Nobu Bangkok spans across the 57th to 60th floors of EA Rooftop at The Empire, one of the world’s largest and iconic F&B rooftop destinations. Nobu Bangkok is designed by Rockwell Group, the Internationally famous architecture and design firm based in New York City. Inspired by Bangkok’s natural and urban landscapes, the design concept references three distinct landscapes found in a vintage map of Thailand: Urban, River and Mountain. The design blends Thailand’s artisanal techniques, like hand-woven textiles and wood carving, with traditional Japanese arts such as Kintsugi and calligraphy. Unfolding uniquely across each floor, it offers various areas for dining, socializing, large gatherings, and celebrations, each providing a distinct experience.

• Upon arrival, guests will first be welcomed to the 57th floor, where they can enjoy a beverage lounge featuring a sculptural bar with semi-gloss black plaster and gold relief wrapping around the perimeter, forming a reflective metal grid containing shimmering crystal light fixtures, provides a delightful start to the evening. The private dining suite, inspired by contemporary Japanese sake rooms, offers stunning views of Bang Krachao. The total combined seating is 42 seats. The outdoor area features lighter color palette, with yellow cream, and light wood, creating a serene and elegant ambiance.

• The 58th floor features a custom lacquered wood host stand and carved wood art. The adjacent lounge boasts banquettes framed by curving metal, adorned with Thai-inspired floral embroidery and blue leather. The indoor dining area seats 80 guests. The highlight is a captivating sushi bar, the centerpiece of Nobu, adorned with glowing onyx stone and a sculptural installation with graceful gold lines hanging from a ceiling clad in smoky mirrors that reflect the sky. The double-floor outdoor terrace with every seat facing the view, totaling 126 seats with a central bar with a sculptural design and integrated lantern fixtures in the banquettes enhances the experience.

• The 60th floor, the highest Nobu rooftop bar offers an open-sky rooftop experience with infinity views that are unparalleled in Nobu’s restaurants worldwide. The circular space is framed by organically shaped infinity pools, with 54 seats. A feature bar is topped with a monumental, curved arch, a giant sculpture that helps frame the view in a crackled, gold mosaic.

At Nobu Bangkok Restaurant and Rooftop Bar, chefs skillfully craft the Japanese-influenced menu, serving highlight dishes such as Toro Tartar, finely minced with garlic and onion in a wasabi soy sauce, topped with caviar and spring onion; Yellowtail Jalapeno, sashimi set in yuzu soy sauce with jalapeno, garlic puree, and coriander; and Beef Toban Yaki, grilled beef tenderloin with garlic puree, flamed with sake and deglazed with yuzu soy sauce, served with white onions, haricot vert, enoki, and shiitake mushrooms, and many more. Meliá Announces First Meliá Collection Hotel in Vietnam - TOP25HOTELS.comMeliá Ba Vi Mountain Retreat, in the lush uplands of Ba Vi National Park near Hanoi, is the first hotel in Vietnam to join the storied, hand-picked collection of properties around the world that form The Meliá Collection. The portfolio was created to bring together some of Meliá Hotels International’s most distinctive and one-of-a-kind properties and to deepen the brand’s commitment to introducing authentic destinations to travelers.

The new agreement was signed in May with the official name change taking place in May 2025. The charming destination, located within the national park, will become Meliá Ba Vi Mountain, Member of Meliá Collection. The award-winning 55-room and villa property, set deep in the forest, was selected for its commitment to sustainability, unique location, and an unparalleled design aesthetic that fuses French colonial and Vietnamese village architecture. It is built upon the historic foundations of a French residence and embraces the local landscape with abundant open spaces and a lineup of activities that immerse guests in the surrounding primitive landscape.

“We have promoted the preservation of what Mother Nature offers and the cultural and historic values unique to Ba Vi Mountain,” said Mr Luong Ngoc Anh, owner of Melia Ba Vi Mountain Retreat. Right from the start, our designs were nature-friendly and in harmony with the surroundings, honoring the enduring historical legacy. We want to bring our guests a feeling of harmony and comfort through experiences that connect the past and the present and embrace sustainable development.”

Ba Vi’s only resort by a global brand will undergo refurbishments to further elevate its gastronomic offering and increase the range of wellness and well-being activities, in the spa and beyond. All-inclusive plans are also in the works to enable guests to have a full experience of the property.

The resort, known for its nature-based excursions, will strongly emphasize delivering exclusive experiences to guests. These experiences will range from a guided tour of the 200 relics in the historic French hill station to a rejuvenating forest bathing session where visitors will uncover the mystical legends of the mountain and forge a deep connection with nature using all their senses. The highlight of this excursion is a meditation session to the symphony of nature sounds set against the soothing backdrop of a cascading waterfall. Guests can also partake in a hands-on workshop to learn the natural dyeing techniques used for generations by the indigenous ethnic community residing in the area.

“Meliá Collection properties appeal to travelers seeking a genuine connection with their destination through both the property and the unique experiences on offer that provide an unmistakable sense of place,” said Gabriel Escarrer, Chairman and CEO of Meliá Hotels International.

The Collection currently includes unique properties that leverage the appeal of destinations as exotic as the Serengeti and as rich with history as the one-time residence of French aristocrats in Paris.

In addition to Meliá Serengeti Lodge and Hotel Villa Marquis in Paris there are six additional Meliá Collection hotels in six countries. These include Tenuta di Artimino in Tuscany; Hotel Maison Colbert in Paris, the Meliá London Kensington, the Meliá Desert Palm in Dubai, Summum Boutique Hotel in Palma de Mallorca, Ratxó Retreat Hotel in Puigpunyent Mallorca, Casa de las Artes in Madrid, and the Hacienda del Conde on the largest of Spain’s Canary Islands. All have “Member of Meliá Collection” in their proper name and the ethos behind the portfolio in all they offer.

In May this year Meliá Hotels International announced their first hotel in Laos, Grand Luang Prabang, which will undergo a 12-month rebranding process to become a member of the Melia Collection in 2025.

“While all properties in the collection are completely distinct, they are bound by a commitment to the utmost in gastronomy, the singular appeal of their design and a celebration of destination,” said Ignacio Martin, Managing Director Asia Pacific of Meliá Hotels International.

The resort also features a YHI Spa, four season swimming pool set among French relics, MICE facilities and two restaurants and one lounge. Over the years the property has been recognized with several awards including the ‘International Sustainable Award’ from Luxury Lifestyle Awards 2023 and the ‘Luxury Wellness Retreat’ award from The World Luxury Awards 2023.
