Travel Promoters Partners with Sirikoi in Kenya

1080 489 wttc2

Travel Promoters Partners with Sirikoi in Kenya - TRAVELINDEXLaikipia, Kenya, April 22, 2025 / TRAVELINDEX / Travel Promoters is delighted to share its appointment as UK Sales & Marketing representatives for Sirikoi Lodge based in northern Kenya’s iconic Lewa Wildlife Conservancy.

This intimate, family-owned lodge sleeps just 18 guests and feels more like staying at your own eco-chic private home than a traditional safari lodge, with one of its key selling points being its enviable location, right on the foothills of Mount Kenya and surrounded by 68,000 acres of pristine wilderness in the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy – a renowned World Heritage Site. Sirikoi has won numerous awards including, most recently, “Kenya’s Leading Safari Lodge” at the World Travel Awards 2024.

Named after the stream which runs past the lodge, Sirikoi’s accommodation offering comprises just 4 safari tents, Sirikoi Cottage which has 2 ensuite bedrooms, and Sirikoi House which boasts 3 ensuite bedrooms for exclusive use with its own safari vehicle, guide, chef and staff.  All enjoy deck views over the lawn, dotted with beautiful Acacia trees for shade, extending down to a busy natural waterhole and wetlands where wildlife gathers.

All rooms are beautifully decorated to the highest spec, complete with Victorian-style bathtubs, rain showers and cosy fireplaces. The main lodge offers inviting communal areas for sharing your adventures, a curio shop, an expansive dining deck and refreshing infinity pool.

Sustainability is a key focus at Sirikoi, and guest can enjoy “farm-to-plate” produce grown right on the grounds in their organic vegetable garden and orchard, which proudly yields over 80 varieties of vegetables, fruits and herbs.  Sirikoi is fully solar powered, is Gold Eco Rated by Ecotourism Kenya and is also a proud member of The Long Run, emphasising its form dedication to holistic sustainability and its 4C philosophy encompassing conservation, culture, community and commerce. The lodge supports local communities through education, health initiatives and via employment, whilst also preserving cultural heritage.

Wildlife viewing in Lewa is phenomenal including regular sightings of black and white rhino, leopard, cheetah and lion, with herds of elephant and other game lingering almost daily right in front of the Sirikoi deck.  Morning, evening and night game drives can be enjoyed by guests in their own exclusive, open-sided safari vehicles with their Maasai or Samburu guide and trackers; on foot with a ranger on a bush walk, or simply as an “armchair safari” right from the lodge.

The special ‘Northern Five’ rare and unique endemic species can also be spotted on Lewa – namely the Reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx, gerenuk, and Somali ostrich.

Extra activities can also be enjoyed at extra cost – from horseback safaris to spending time with the anti-poaching unit, visiting a local school or enjoying helicopter excursions up Mount Kenya.  Guests can also go fly-fishing, or take day excursions to explore the lakes of flamingos, desert and rocky outcrops of the North.

Sirikoi is accessible by road, taking roughly 5-hours’ drive from Nairobi, but we would always recommend flying in for ease and comfort. Sirikoi is just a 20-minute drive from the Lewa airstrip, which is served by both private charters and scheduled flights from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport and JOMO Kenyatta International Airport – a 50-minute flight away. Private charter flights are best with Tropic Air Kenya or scheduled flights with Air Kenya or Safarilink.

Anantara Chiang Mai Resort Unveils New Menu at The Service at 1921 House

1080 720 wttc2

This Songkran, Anantara Chiang Mai Resort invites guests to rediscover The Service at 1921 House, the resort’s distinguished steakhouse and grill, with the debut of an inspired new menu curated by Executive Chef Natruthai Petsuwan. Classic Western dishes are artfully reimagined with Asian nuances, celebrating a perfect harmony of tradition and innovation.

Housed within a two-storied teakwood mansion that once served as the British consulate, The Service at 1921 House carries over a century of rich heritage. Stepping onto the wraparound verandah, where views of the serene Mae Ping River unfold, guests are transported to a world of timeless elegance. Inside, the dining experience continues amid décor reminiscent of British colonial intrigue, offering a setting as memorable as the cuisine.

The new menu delights with bold, contemporary flavours. Signature creations include Braised Beef Cheek Pappardelle with salsa verde, bone marrow jus and smoked Parmesan; Lobster & Salmon Agnolotti, delicately filled and served with stracciatella, sun-dried tomato and a velvety bisque; and Spanish Octopus Rigatoni, infused with puttanesca, anchovy and chilli for a spirited finish.

At the heart of the menu is an exceptional selection of premium meats, expertly prepared to bring out their natural richness. The TS 1921 Meat Feast is a true indulgence, offering a generous array of flat iron steak, barbecued pork ribs, Sirin Farm chicken from Chiang Rai and local Chiang Mai sausage, Sloane’s pork chop, Surat Thani tiger prawns, and Phuket lobster. Steaks are dry-aged in-house for a minimum of 30 days, enhancing both texture and flavor. Highlights include Japanese Wagyu, Australian Black Angus, USDA Prime from the United States, and the celebrated Thai Nguadoi beef — a true gem of Chiang Mai.

Raised in the lush foothills of Doi Tao, Nguadoi cattle are a first-generation cross between Japanese and Thai breeds, nurtured on a diet enriched with local longan fruit. Their unrivalled tenderness and sweet finish earned them the title of Wagyu Champion of the World 2023.

An addtional signature highlight is the Nguadoi Tomahawk — a one-kilogram masterpiece, flame-seared tableside with whisky and carved with finesse by the culinary team. It is served with artisanal salts such as smoked Maldon Sea Salt, Nan’s fleur de sel, Pattani’s Garam Manis, house-crafted Monsoon Valley red wine salt, and black truffle sea salt. Complementary sauces include Thai jaew, longan salsa, bone marrow jus, béarnaise, green peppercorn, and black truffle mushroom — creating a symphony of tastes tailored to your preference. Further elevating the experience, The Service proudly features Kampot pepper, a spice revered by gourmands worldwide for its Protected Geographical Indication and rich culinary heritage.

To accompany, the 1921 House Salad offers an elegant mix of charred baby cos and radicchio, cranberries, candied pecans, and Syam is Blue — a creamy, locally crafted blue cheese by Jartisaan in Chiang Mai. Diners can conclude the evening with the 1921 House Crumble, crafted with fresh raspberries from MonBarree Farm in Mae Rim and topped with luscious Chantilly cream.

“Anantara Chiang Mai is a proud ambassador of next-generation Thai farming,” says Chef Natruthai Petsuwan“The developments even within the last decade have been astounding. Sourcing locally not only supports small farms but also reduces our carbon footprint, all while allowing our guests to enjoy the freshest, top-quality produce.”

The Service at 1921 House is open daily for lunch from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm and for dinner from 5:30 pm – 10:00 pm. Complimentary parking and valet service are available at Anantara Chiang Mai Resort.

Retox With Cigars, Gin, Desserts and Bubbles

720 1080 wttc2

Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR, April 2, 2025 / TRAVELINDEX / In a salute to ubiquitous wellness travel trends, The Hari Hong Kong has launched a “retox” experience that celebrates the finer things in life.

Leave your guilt at the door and indulge in a late-night cigar, a tumbler of gin, a dessert platter and sweet bubbles in The Hari’s one-night “Retox But Not Detox” room package, which also includes a luxurious room or suite and breakfast for two.

The most toxic part of the package – the ‘Late-Night Retox’ — affords a choice of either the “Cigar Combo” or “Sweet Duo” for two.

Cigar Combo pairs a Confidenciaal cigar with a glass of the hotel’s own brand of gin, The Hari London Dry Gin, characterised by citrus, peppercorn and floral nuances, on the rocks for each person. Sweet Duo spoils guests to a dessert platter each of homemade Amalfi lemon sponge, berries panna cotta, and pistachio cannoli accompanied by a glass of Moscato d’Asti Scagliola Primo Bacio Piedmont, Italy.

“Not everyone’s idea of a great getaway involves rolling out a yoga mat, meditating and drinking freshly squeezed juice,” said Francesco Gava, Director of Food & Beverage at The Hari Hong Kong. “Detoxing is all well and good yet with so much talk of wellness post-COVID, it can get a bit overwhelming. So much so we want to acknowledge that it’s okay to like the finer things in life; a great cigar, an irresistible gin, an indulgent homemade dessert and a glass of sweet bubbles.”

Priced from HK$2,360++, the room package will be available from April 1 until Sept. 30 this year. Retox But Not Detox will offer early check-in at 2pm and late check-out until 2pm (subject to availability upon check-in). Late-Night Retox is available at Zoku & The Terrace after 8pm.

For guests not availing the Retox But Not Detox package, Zoku & The Terrace offer the Cigar Combo for HK$298+ per person and Sweet Duo for HK$228+ per person.

A spiced, aromatic take on the traditional London Dry, the hotel launched its own The Hari Gin in conjunction with its sister property The Hari London. Combining cardamom, cassia bark, star anise and cloves, The Hari Gin encapsulates the Harilela family’s Indian heritage. The Hari Gin is a nod to the CEO and chairman of Harilela Hotels Limited and the founder of The Hari Hong Kong Dr Aron Harilela’s late father Dr Hari Harilela’s love for a classic gin martini. The Hari Gin clinched silver for World’s Best Contemporary Style at the renowned World Gin Awards 2022.

Award-winning Zoku makes for an intimate setting of leather fluted booths, crimson velvet banquettes and bar lounge chairs amid the glow of pink bubble glass tealight holders and orange hand stitched fringed lampshades. Meaning “clan” in Japanese, Zoku is dominated by a mesmerizing ceiling of angled timber slats in origami-like forms. Adjacent to Zoku, The Terrace is an alfresco terrace bar framed by greenery.

The elegant hotel’s rooms and suites are imagined by renowned interior designer Tara Bernerd with views overlooking Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, The Peak and Victoria Harbour. Adorned with timber panelling, natural linen wallpaper, plush velvet upholstery and eccentric art, the bedrooms are separated from marble bathrooms by brass Crittall doors.
